What do I need to use this service?
You need a mobile phone with web-browsing and messaging capabilities on a supported network. Most new color screen phones have this capability. Check your account to make sure you have activated web browsing. If you're not sure, ask your mobile provider, "Can I get to the internet on my phone?" In terms of devices, the site is compatible with most popular handsets from Motorola, Nokia, Samsung, LG, SonyEricsson, Sanyo, Apple, and others. The device just needs to have a color screen and internet browser on it. Unfortunately, we cannot guarantee that the service will work on your handset. How do I know if I’m on a supported carrier?
The following carriers are usually supported: AT&T Wireless (formerly Cingular), Verizon, Sprint/Nextel, T-Mobile, Alltel, Boost, Suncom, Midwest, CBW and Virgin Mobile. However, this list may change based on the specific application you are trying to access.
How do I know if my phone/carrier supports web-browsing?
Click the main menu button that brings you to the main menu of your phone. From this menu you should see an icon for the mobile web or internet. Please click on this button to see if your phone can access the Internet. If your phone can access the Internet, try typing in www.kargo.com on your phone as this will let you know if you have an Internet plan that allows you access to the Internet. Your phone will either deliver you to this URL or will ask you to sign up for a browser plan. You will need a browser plan to access the Kargo services.
How do I know if my phone/carrier supports premium text messaging?
The following carriers are supported AT&T Wireless (formerly Cingular), Verizon, Sprint/Nextel and T-Mobile. Depending on the specific application others like Alltel, Boost, Suncom, Midwest, CBW and Virgin Mobile may also be supported.
What do I need to get messages?
A cell phone with two-way text messaging, sometimes called SMS. For some phones we send richer messages sometimes called MMS messages and in other cases browser messages or WAP Push Messages. The message may show up in various inboxes on your phone. Please check your SMS message box, your MMS message box, your email box or your browser message box to see whether you have received a message. It is important that you check all message boxes to see if the message has been received. In most cases, your phone will indicate that a new message has arrived.
What is SMS or text messaging?
SMS or text messaging service will allow you to receive short messages on your phone as long as you are in a digital coverage area and have SMS service set up on your phone.
What is MMS or multimedia messaging?
MMS is similar to text messaging but it extends text messaging to include longer text, graphics, photos, audio clips, video clips, or any combination of the above, within a certain size limits.
What is WAP Push messaging?
A WAP Push is a specially encoded text message which includes a link to a WAP address. Because of how the message is encoded, when you click on a WAP Push message it will open your browser and take you to the address that is specially encoded in the message.
What is a short-code?
A short-code is a special number that acts like a telephone number for SMS messages. Instead of sending a text message to your friend at their telephone number, you would send a text message to the short-code instead. A short-code is either 5 or 6 digits instead of the typical 10 digits. If you were to send an SMS to your friend whose telephone number is (212) 555-1234. You would compose the message and then type in the telephone number. With a short-code, you would compose the message; but instead of sending it to the telephone number you would send it to the short-code. For example, you would compose the message with the words "go" and send it to the number 99799.
How do I sign up for the service?
There are two ways to sign up for the service. The first is to go to the website for the service and find the entry form on the website. Enter all the information and the service will send a message to your phone with a 5 digit confirmation number. Type this number into the entry form and you will be signed up. The second allows you to sign up from your phone. Make sure that your phone is turned on. Go to the main menu on your phone or click on the special text messaging key on your phone (not all phones apply). Scroll through the choices until you see the message menu option. Select the message menu. Scroll through and select either create message or new message. Type in the applicable key word which is on the offer such as "movie, yes, win, go, in, now, ok". Select the Green, yes or ok button. Type in the short code 99799. Then send the message by pressing the applicable key.
Is there a charge for the Service or SMS or text messaging?
There is either a one time sign up charge or a monthly recurring charge for the service you sign up for. In some cases, you will sign up for a sponsored service where no charges apply. Please make sure you fully understand the charges for the service you sign up for and the duration of those charges. This information should be clearly explained on the original offer where you signed up. Please note that some carriers do charge an additional standard text messaging fee to send or receive messages in addition to any premium charges for the service. In addition, carriers may charge you for access to the Internet either as a one time fee, monthly recurring charge or by the amount of data you use. Please check with your carrier to find out if they have a standard text messaging fees or data charges associated with premium services. To contact your carrier dial 611 on your cell phone.

How many alerts will I receive per week?
Approximately 2-5 alerts per week, depending on the particular week and application.
When will I get billed and will you let me know?
If you are subscribed to a premium service, you will be billed upfront for the first month of the service and will typically have a three day grace period to end the service without penalty. Each month we will send out a billing notice approximately 30 days after you have signed up. This message will be received around 6pm EST. You will have three days to terminate the service without penalty from the day that you received the recurring billing notice.
How do I stop the alerts or end the service?
Reply to any message with the word "END" or “STOP” followed by the keyword that you used to sign up. If you have any problems, reply to any message with the word “HELP” in the message and we will send you back specific instructions to end the service. To end all services reply “STOP ALL” and all your services will be terminated.
What do I do if I have problems signing up?
Please send an email to help@kargo.com and we will help you. For immediate support, send a text message to the shortcode with “HELP” in the message. This will assist you in signing up or ending the service.
What do I do if I have billing question or want a refund?
Kargo is unable to help you with billing issues or provide you with a refund. The only way to get a refund is to contact your carrier’s customer support number. Typically, you can dial 611 from your cell phone for carrier customer service. Kargo has the ability to help you with technical questions and assist you in signing up; but we have no ability to help you with billing questions. If you contact us with billing questions, we will redirect you to carrier customer support.
